Simulation of amyloid aggregation on the surface of a lipid vesicle with a coarse-grained model (aligned)

The simulations shows the formation of an ordered (fibrillar) aggregate whose nucleation is aided by the presence of a lipid vesicle. The lipid particles are shown in gray while the peptide monomers are shown in color. Images are aligned to facilitate following the assembly process visually. Due to the presence of many particles with varying mobility, alignment leads to apparent slow global motion that is artifactual. The raw (unaligned) movie is provided on this website as well.
